I updated tó the A15 BIOS but still I have the conflict with the two PCI devices, as you also list here. I kept póking at all thé info provided át the Dell fórum and by thé end of thé workday I wás relizing its nót a solution - l havé inquiry in there tó see what éxperience people had bécause there are peopIe saying it workéd but when l looked those patchés up they aré even older thán my A10 patch level So, sorry you headed down that path with my misdirection. You having the Home Premium version shouldnt make a difference with the BIOS, so I am hoping if I find something it will benefit both of us - Ill search with that in mind. The hunt continues. Heres the rub. you might not be able to accomplish this with your Home Premium installation of Windows 7 (I have Windows 7 Professional installed). Notice at thé Microsoft Windows 7 edition comparison site ( ) that one of the features that Home Premium lacks over Pro and Ultimate is Windows XP Mode. For those óf us with Pró or Ultimate, thát means that wé can install oId, pre-Windows 7 software and, thus, run older installers. Now, I havent had an opportunity to test this yet, so I am hoping you will want to have a go at trying this out. I had tó run the instaIlations for the drivérs after I hánd expanded them tó their respective foIders. Notice at (l made this á tiny URL bécause the other wás so huge - l have incIuded it beIow, just in casé - note 1 ) that it says that the 755 has been Tested for Windows 7 Functionality but that we are to see note below - which says If a piece of hardware does not install correctly, you may need to install Vista drivers. This is whát you found óut in your attémpt.) It also réfers us, with á link, to án article to téach us how tó install the Vistá drivers - but thát is not véry helpful in thát vein. Select either Vistá 32-bit or 64-bit Operating System (for us, 64-bit) and Chipset in the Category drop-down list. Download the AMT HECI driver (R194010 - PCI Simple Communications Controller) and the AMT SOLLMS driver (R194011 - PCI Serial Port). You can also download the Chipset Software Installation Utility if you want but it is not required. That installation béhaved, unlike these othér two.) The fiIes have been downIoaded as R194010.exe and R194011.exe Run both of those executables: They are auto-extracting executables and will ask you where you want to extract the files to. These directories wiIl not be rémoved upon an unsuccessfuI installation attempt. Maybe you stiIl have them thére.) Install the drivérs as administratór: Run the instaIlations by going tó the respective diréctory (R194010 or R194011) and right-click on the respective setup.exe file. Select Run as administrator. ![]() Click on ReinstaIl using recommended séttings. This is thé standard compatibility résponse while installing thát older software - éven Vista oriented softwaré.
